Bob Berrigan - at the tender age of 7 started studying "Pianoforte". Music has always been a joy for Bob and he remembers his mother was a great encourager. At the age of seven, i'd come home from piano lessons, play my little piece and say to Mum, "How was that?" to which she would reply "Lovely", I'd say "Good, I'll play it again". Nothing has changed and the joy of creating music is as exciting as ever. Over the years Bob has played in bands accompanying local and touring international artists. He has musically directed productions such as "Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell and Nunsense", and currently performs as the leader of "All that Jazz", and also as a solo performer in restaurants, hotels, clubs, resorts, wineries and at special occasions. Bob is on of the most respected and well known musicians on the eastern seaboard of Australia, having had some 50 years musical experience. Bob left his home in Taree for the bright lights of Sydney at the age of 19, studying at the Conservatorium of Music, while also playing professionally. Bob grew up on a formula of classical, Beatles and the rolling Stones, playing popular music and just "having fun". Bob's love of Jazz was aroused at the conservatorium, specifically doing an intensive course with visiting American Jazz musicians from the "Mel Lewis Big Band". Having learnt from and improvised jazz with pianists like Duke ellington, Errol Gamer, Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson (just to name a few), makes playing all styles of music more rewarding. Bob is a celebrated favourite at Australis Diamond Beach Resort & Spa, having entertained our guests more than 25 times. His genuine charisma and joviality combine with his musical talent to provide an entertaining afternoon. Bob is often accompanied by any number of musicians with his band "All That Jazz". Bob's long assosciation with the area has made hime a local music icon and almost a household name (to locals anyway). Bob is guaranteed to have an eclectic mix of "groupies" (if we can call them that) at every one of his performances, with audiences often being delighted with special guest performances from some of the areas most noted seasoned musicians and amateurs. Bob and his team involve the au dience as much as possible, and are only too happy to accommodate requests - auidences recently were delighted with the dancing skills of a lovable 2 year old boy named Toby dancing along while Bob performed his version of the Wiggles classic "Hot Potato". Bob and his team of musicians are guarenteed to delight, and will no doubt have you asking where he will be performing next. Bob Berrigan will be joining us on Sunday 3rd October, Sunday 7th November, Sunday 5th December 2010. Dates will be posted soon for the Christmas and January holidays.
